On Thursday 26th June the Year 10 GCSE Art pupils and Mrs McCarthy visited Edge Hill Gallery in Lancaster to undertake a workshop with the gallery owner and artist Pricilla Jones.
Pupils had been inspired by Pricilla's art whilst touring the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe to see an exhibition by St. Mary's College art students earlier in the year.
The pupils took work they had produced on the new Apple Mac in the Art Department with them to the workshop. This work was of a modern Icon in the style of Andy Warhol. Using fabric and sewing machines the pupils art work was turned into beautiful final pieces that were in the style of the gallery owner, Pricilla.
It was a fantastic day. Pricilla and her husband made everyone very welcome and their gallery and workshop was outstanding.
The final pieces of art created by the pupils were of an extremely high standard and all the pupils were thrilled with what they had learnt and produced.
