Oakhill College

Blackburn Rovers Training Session

Members of the Senior school recently spent the afternoon at Blackburn Rovers training facilities thanks to an invite from Premier League sponsors Barclays.

Pupils had the opportunity to met Rovers manager Sam Allardyce, as well as 1st team squad member Morten Gamst Pederson.  Pupils took part in a question and answer session, asking probing questions such as 'If you could manage any club in the world who would it be?' and 'Who is the toughest opponent you have ever faced?'  After getting the opportunity to have shirts and footballs signed, the pupils then took part in a fun and energetic training session held by members of the Rovers coaching staff.  Laura Ratcliffe (Year 8) won the Player of the Day competition and recieved a pair of Morten Gamst Pedersons boots as a prize.

After a quick bite to eat and several minutes spent staring at the vast array of expensive cars parked in the car park it was a return to school to tell fellow pupils about their exciting day.

Oakhill would like to thank Premier League sponsors Barclays and Blackburn Rovers for giving the college the chance to attend the event.
