Record Maths Challenge Results

Our Mathematical geniuses in Year Eleven continue to show their prowess with some record breaking results in the recent Intermediate Maths Challenge, held here at Oakhill before half term.

The Maths Challenge, run in schools throughout the country by the UK Mathematics Trust, offers a challenging one hour paper which tests problem solving skills requiring the use of some more advanced mathematical techniques.  Our pupils, most of whom achieved their GCSE award in year ten, and are currently studying A level maths, made a fantastic effort and achieved some amazing results. Most notably Samuel Unsworth and Joseph Wright achieved a Gold Award, which is an Oakhill first at this level.  Six other pupils achieved a Silver Award, and two achieved a Bronze Award.  These are great results and a credit to their hard work.  Well done to all who took part.
